Portuguese crown for Misbun
Misbun Ramdan Misbun clinched his first international title of the year at the Portuguese International badminton championships in Caldas da Rainha on Sunday.
The 22-year-old upset top seeded Spaniard Pablo Abian in the final with a one sided 21-8, 21-9 victory.
It was the Misbun Ramdan’s second win over the Spaniard. He was made to work much harder in his previous win over Abian at the Thailand Open last year.
He was a semi-finalist at the Polish Open in March, where he lost to Denmark’s Rasmus Fladberg.
At the Dutch International earlier in April, he was beaten in the last eight by top seeded Peter Axelsson of Denmark.
Ramdan quit the national team earlier this year, and currently trains with his father Misbun Sidek.
