BAM ORGANIZES MOTIVATIONAL TALK FOR JUNIORS BEFORE ASIA JUNIOR MEET

The national junior team comprising of 17 players leaves for Bangkok tomorrow morning to compete in Asia’s top junior tournament, the Badminton Asia Junior Championships. In preparation for the championships, BAM organized a motivational talk this evening to encourage and boost their confidence ahead of the games.

BAM’s Development Chairman, David Wee who begin the talk stressed a lot on team unity and to continue supporting each other during competition. He also advised players to take care of their health being in a foreign country.

As for Datuk William Toh who is one of BAM’s council member, he spoke to players on sponsorship and having the positive mind set. He emphasized that players should abide with the terms and conditions of sponsorship agreements especially when it comes to their attire and equipment used as BAM will have to bear the cost of penalty in the event of default.

Datuk also added that they have to work hard for every single point regardless of the results. This is because, even if they win or lose, they can still walk tall and be satisfied that they have given their best.

Just before ending, Morten Frost, BAM’s technical director gave a pep talk being a top player himself. He wanted the players to know how important it is to have the fighting spirit while being on the court and he even mentioned that South Korea is one of the best examples when it comes to never give up attitude.

At the end of the talk, the players were very motivated and felt that it was timely to have the talk just before they leave for Bangkok.
