ISKANDAR ZULKARNAIN EYES KOREA MASTERS QUARTER-FINAL SPOT

Fresh off clinching his first title of the year last Sunday, national shuttler, Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin now set his sights on the upcoming Korea Masters 2017 in South Korea on November 28.

"It was a small step forward for me and I hope the win would provide a solid platform to achieve more success in the future.

"I'm targeting to reach the quarterfinal stage in South Korea because I know the competition would be much tougher and I'm expecting difficult opponents," said Iskandar to www.bam.org.my who has resumed light training on Monday at Stadium Juara, Bukit Juara since returning from Johor Bahru.   

The 26-year-old rose to the occasion by defeating compatriot, Leong Jun Hao 21-11, 21-13 in the men's singles final at the Malaysia International Challenge 2017 in Pasir Gudang Municipal Council.

World No 49 pair, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani capped a memorable win over fellow countrymen Shia Chun Kang-Tan Wee Gieen 21-19, 21-12 in the men’s doubles final to record their first title of the season while in the mixed doubles final, Malaysia’s K Yogendran and India’s Prajakta Sawant were defeated 21-10, 24-22 by Japan’s Hiroki Okamura-Naru Shinoya.
