JING HONG HOPES TO SHINE IN U-14 BOYS’ SINGLES CATEGORY

Born in Alor Setar, national junior, Kok Jing Hong who studies at the Bukit Jalil Sports School is counting on his lucky stars to shine in the Under-14 boys’ singles of the BAM National Junior Circuit Grand Prix Finals held at Stadium Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

14 year-old Jing Hong proved that he was heading in the right direction after securing three straight game wins in his group match to check into the quarter-finals.

Tomorrow’s match may not be the easiest as he faces Zone A circuit champion, Teh Jin Hong of Penang, however the BJSS player is confident with his current form, he is able to overcome the Penangite.

“I won the U-12 title two years ago in this same tournament and it will surely be another special moment if I am able to repeat my success. I am not only hoping on my luck but I have also been working very hard during training and I hope I’ll be able to perform here,” said the Kedahan after winning his third match today.

The quarters and semi- finals will be played tomorrow at 8.30am and the matches are expected to go on till evening.
