M. THINAAH/ MEI XING CRUISES INTO THE FINALS OF THE KOREAN JUNIOR

Being the only survivors at the Yonex Korea Junior Open Badminton Championships 2015, M. Thinaah/ Teoh Mei Xing stayed on course for their first gold after qualifying for the finals of the Girls’ Doubles Under-19. They prevailed against Chae Hee Soo/ Lee So Won of Korea, 22/20, 21/14 to meet another Korean pair, Baek Seung Hee/ Kim Ga Eun tomorrow afternoon.

Teoh Mei Xing will partner Thinaah in the girls' doubles

This is just the second time they have been paired together but they surely have been showing progress. The duo first partnered at Jaya Raya Indonesia Junior International Challenge last month and they did well to reach the semi-finals stage before losing to an Indonesian pair. Today, they have once again proved to be a great combination checking into the finals here in Gwangju.

However, in the mixed doubles, Mei Xing could not make it a double joy with partner, Wong Wai Jun as they lost in a narrow 15/21, 21/23 match to Koreans, Park Chan Ik/ Ji Jung Bing. Mei Xing who has always played in two events will soon be roped into the back-up squad where she may have to make the decision of playing in doubles or mixed doubles or even both as long as she stays fit mentally and physically.
