Malaysia is already assured a place in the finals of the boys’ singles and mixed doubles at the Maybank Malaysia International Youth U-19 when R. Satheishtharan meets fellow Malaysian, Yeoh Seng Zoe while Ameer Amri Zainuddin/ Anna Cheong takes on teammates, Goh Sze Fei/ Teoh Mei Xing. Perak Open champion, Lee Zii Jia will play against sixth seed, Adulrach Namkul to make it an all Malaysian affair in the boys’ singles finals.

M. Thinaah continued her fine run in the girls’ singles event after defeating her junior, Pearly Tan, 21/12, 21/13. Thinaah will next meet Ga Eun Park of Korea in the semi-finals tomorrow. As for Pearly Tan, the 15 year-old showed good potential being one of the youngest player to make it thus far in the tournament. The exposure she received will surely help her in terms of her skills and to boost her confidence to be a better player.

In the boys’ doubles, two pairs, Tan Jinn Hwa/ Goh Sze Fei and Aaron Chia/ Soh Wooi Yik stayed on course to set up a clash against Indonesians pairs respectively and a win will assure Malaysia a gold. Meanwhile, girls’ doubles failed to make it to the semis. 

The tournament which is held in Juara Stadium, Bukit Kiara does not have any entrance fee, thus, it is free of charge for badminton fans to watch the matches.
