BAM held its EXCO meeting this morning at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara. Tan Sri Mohamed Al-Amin Abdul Majid headed the meeting and also present were BAM’s Deputy President, Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza, Honarary Secretary, Ng Chin Chai and few other council members.

One of the main topics discussed was on the administrative side, review of several committees in BAM as well as getting a new coach in the doubles department. Besides that, he also mentioned that Morten is currently looking out for suitable places for the players to train prior to the Olympics next year.

In addition, Tan Sri announced that former national coach, Cheah Soon Kit is said to take up the role as the new doubles coach in the senior team.

“We have chosen Soon Kit based on the recommendation by Morten and we do feel that his vast experience and capabilities in the doubles department will be beneficial for the players. I do not know on where Soon Kit will be placed or how long is his contract with BAM. However, once Morten is back, he will be able to disclose the information.

On whether Soon Kit has agreed to accept the offer, Tan Sri said “I believe Morten has discussed this matter with him and I presume that Soon Kit will accept it”.
