BUKIT KIARA – BAM’s acting president and also Chef de Mission for the XXXI Olympic Games in Rio 2016, Tan Sri Al-Amin Abdul Majid visited the national training center at Juara Stadium this morning to meet the new world No. 1, Lee Chong Wei and other Olympic bound players as the prepare for the world’s greatest sports event.
Tan Sri was seen speaking to Chong Wei regarding the injury he sustained during the Indonesia Open Superseries. Chong Wei had to withdraw from the Australian Open after he was advised to not worsen the injury.
“One of the main reason for my visit was also to enquire on Chong Wei’s injury and although Chong Wei is not fully recovered yet, he did mention that the injury is getting better as he has been receiving treatments from his physiotherapy,” said Tan Sri during the press conference.
The visit was more on getting to know on the player’s preparation as well as taking measures if there are areas that need to be improvised before the team leaves for Rio.
When asked regarding the medal prospect, Tan Sri mentioned that besides men’s singles, the men’s and mixed doubles pair have also good chances of bringing back a medal for Malaysia.
